Awards and Fellowships for Outstanding and Meritorious Research Work in Statistics

The Department of Statistics and Programme Implementation under the Ministry of Planning and Programme Implementation is operating a IX Plan Scheme entitled "Awards and Fellowships for Outstanding and Meritorious Research Work in Statistics". Under this scheme, 100% financial grants towards meeting the travel cost for presentation of accepted research papers relating to statistics in international conferences will be considered. The local cost consisting of airport tax, visa fees, local travel, etc. would have to be borne by the sponsoring agency or by the candidate himself.

Although there is no upper age limit for the candidate, preference will be given to young statisticians whose paper has been accepted with the order of priority to be given to government service officials who have not been assisted by their Departments/Ministries, Government officials belonging to autonomous institutions and other in that order. The candidate ordinarily should not have availed government sponsorship within the last three years for attending any previous conference/meeting/workshop etc The recommendation by the Head of the Department and a copy of the accepted paper may also be sent along with the application.
