Database on Foundry Industry [Indian Foundry Directory, 6 edn. (1997)]

The Foundry Informatics Centre of the Institute of Foundrymen, New Delhi, through a NISSAT project, has produced their Database on Foundry Industry. Created on CDS/ISIS, the Foundry Industry database has the following information:

On the basis of the information obtained for the database, the Foundry Directory 1997 has been produced. It gives information on :

Name of the unit and its status [small, medium, large etc] Head office and Factory addresses, Phone numbers, Fax numbers, etc.

• Name of the contact person

• Types of materials cast with weight range and installed capacity

• Classification of the castings; Total number of employees of the company; Manufacturing equipment available ; Process technology established; Quality control assurance equipment; Accreditation of the units to ISO 9002 certification; Foreign collaboration if any with type, nature and duration of collaboration; Identification of exporters, their export performance and countries of export.
